Rescrutiny _ HSC Board Challenge 2026 Apply Online _ rescrutiny.eduboardresults.gov.bd
HSC 2026 re-scrutiny applications are open right now — from Sunday 1 November to Saturday 7 November 2026. If your HSC or equivalent result came out on 31 October and a grade does not match how you actually did in the exam hall, this is your one chance to ask the board to re-check your answer scripts. It is called re-scrutiny, board challenge, or khata challenge — three names for the same thing. The whole process is online, it costs Tk 150 per paper, and the only official place to apply is the board portal at rescrutiny.eduboardresults.gov.bd. There is no paper form, no office visit, and no second round once the window closes on 7 November.
The HSC, Alim and Vocational results for 2026 were published on Saturday 31 October 2026. A total of 12,70,583 candidates had registered across the 11 education boards. Most students got roughly what they expected. Some opened their marksheet and found a subject two grades lower than every mock test said it should be. That gap is exactly what re-scrutiny exists for.
Quick facts
- Application window: 1 November to 7 November 2026
- Official portal: rescrutiny.eduboardresults.gov.bd — this is the only place applications are accepted
- Fee: Tk 150 per paper
- Payment methods: bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Upay and Sonali Seba
- You need: your roll number, registration number, board name, and an active mobile number
- Who can apply: HSC, Alim and HSC Vocational candidates of 2026 under any of the 11 boards
How to apply, step by step
The application takes about ten minutes if you have your admit card in hand. Here is the full walkthrough — our screen-by-screen board challenge walkthrough covers the same steps with extra detail on what each page of the portal shows.
Step 1 — Open the portal. Go to rescrutiny.eduboardresults.gov.bd. Use this exact address. The boards accept applications nowhere else, and copycat sites appear every year.
Step 2 — Enter your exam details. Type your roll number and registration number, select your education board from the list, and click Submit. Double-check both numbers against your admit card before you press anything — a wrong digit sends you into someone else's result.
Step 3 — Give an active mobile number. The board sends your re-scrutiny result to this number by SMS. Use a SIM that stays switched on and in your hands for the next month or so.
Step 4 — Select the papers. Your subject-wise result appears on screen. Tick the subject or paper you want re-checked. For a two-paper subject like Bangla or English, you must select both papers — the portal does not let you challenge only one of them.
Step 5 — Check the fee and click Pay Fee. The portal adds up Tk 150 per paper and shows the total before you pay. Our fee and payment breakdown works through the maths for the common cases.
Step 6 — Pay. Pay with bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Upay or Sonali Seba. Keep the transaction ID until your result comes out.
Step 7 — Go back and click Submit. This is the step people miss. After paying, log in to the portal again and click Submit to finish the application. Paying the fee alone does not complete it. If you skip this step, your money is gone and your scripts are never re-checked.
What re-scrutiny actually checks
Re-scrutiny is a careful re-check of the record, not a fresh marking of your answers. The board checks three things: whether every answer you wrote was actually marked, whether the marks on the script were added up correctly, and whether those marks were transferred to the result sheet properly. Examiners do not read your essay again and re-mark it from scratch.
That sounds narrow, but counting and transfer mistakes are real, and every year some students get a corrected result out of this process. If an error is found, the board revises your result. If your script was marked and counted correctly the first time, the result stays as it is.
Fee and payment rules
The fee is Tk 150 per paper, the same for every board. One single-paper subject costs Tk 150. Bangla or English, with two papers each, costs Tk 300. The portal shows the full total before you confirm, so there are no surprises at the payment screen.
Two rules are worth burning into memory. First, a paid fee can never be cancelled and is never refunded, under any circumstances — so select your subjects carefully before paying. Second, nobody official charges anything beyond the Tk 150 per paper. A shop or "agent" asking for extra money to file your challenge is charging you for ten minutes of form-filling you can do yourself. There is also no app involved in any of this — our download page explains why board challenge apps are fake and where applications really happen.
All 11 boards are covered
The same portal and the same window apply to every board: Dhaka, Rajshahi, Cumilla, Jashore, Chattogram, Barishal, Sylhet, Dinajpur and Mymensingh, plus the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board for Alim candidates and the Bangladesh Technical Education Board for HSC Vocational candidates. You pick your board in step 2 and the portal routes your application to the right place.
What happens after you apply
Once the window closes, the boards re-check the challenged scripts and publish revised results on the board websites. You will get an SMS on the mobile number you gave, and you can also check yourself on eduboardresults.gov.bd with your roll number. Boards usually publish re-scrutiny results within about a month of the application closing. Our post on what happens after you apply covers the timeline, the possible outcomes, and what a changed grade means for college admission.
Mistakes that cost students their chance
- Paying but never clicking Submit. The single most common failure. Payment is step 6 of 7, not the finish line.
- Typing the roll or registration number wrong. Copy both from your admit card, not from memory.
- Giving a mobile number that is switched off or rarely used. Your result SMS goes there. If the SIM is dead, you may never hear back.
- Challenging one paper of a two-paper subject. Not allowed — Bangla and English must go in as pairs.
- Waiting until the evening of 7 November. Portals slow down badly on the last day of any board window. Apply early in the week.
- Applying on a lookalike site. If the address is not rescrutiny.eduboardresults.gov.bd, close the tab.
Common questions
What is the last date to apply for HSC 2026 re-scrutiny?
Saturday 7 November 2026. The window opened on 1 November and there is no late round.
How much does a board challenge cost?
Tk 150 per paper. Both papers of Bangla or English together cost Tk 300.
Can my marks go down after re-scrutiny?
The check looks for unmarked answers, addition errors and transfer mistakes. Where an error is found, the board corrects the record and revises the result. Scripts are not re-marked from scratch.
How do I get my re-scrutiny result?
By SMS to the mobile number on your application, and on the board result websites — check eduboardresults.gov.bd with your roll number once revised results are published.
I submitted one subject but want to add another. Can I?
Yes. You can file another application for additional subjects inside the same window, as long as it is before 7 November.
Can I cancel and get a refund?
No. Once a fee is paid it cannot be cancelled and is never refunded. Before paying, you can remove a selected subject with the Delete option.
If a grade on your marksheet genuinely does not add up, do not sit on it. The window is one week, the fee is small, and the portal is open now. Check your numbers, pick your papers, pay — and then go back and press Submit.
