Re-Scrutiny Fees: Tk 150 Per Paper, Paying by bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Upay
Exactly what an HSC 2026 board challenge costs in the common cases, how each payment method works, and what to do if a payment succeeds but the portal does not update.
The board challenge itself is simple. The money confuses people — mostly because the fee is per paper, not per subject, and two of the most-challenged subjects have two papers each. Here is the full picture for HSC 2026: what you will pay in the common cases, how each payment method works inside the portal, and what to do when a payment succeeds but the portal seems not to notice.
The one number that matters
The fee is Tk 150 per paper, fixed by the boards, the same for all 11 boards and all subjects. There is no per-application charge on top, and the portal shows your exact total before you confirm payment. If any total you are quoted anywhere else is higher, the extra is not going to the board.
The maths for common cases
- One single-paper subject — say, ICT or a science paper: 1 paper × Tk 150 = Tk 150.
- Bangla or English: both papers must go together, so 2 papers × Tk 150 = Tk 300. You cannot challenge only the first paper.
- Bangla and English together: 4 papers × Tk 150 = Tk 600.
- Three single-paper subjects: 3 × Tk 150 = Tk 450.
- A mixed case — English (both papers) plus one more subject: 3 papers × Tk 150 = Tk 450.
Count papers, not subjects, and you will never be surprised at the payment screen. The portal also adds it up for you as you tick subjects on the application screen — the walkthrough of that screen is in our step-by-step application guide.
Paying with bKash or Nagad
For most students this is the route. Select bKash or Nagad at the payment step, enter the account number, and confirm with the one-time code and PIN the provider sends you. Keep enough balance for the total plus a little headroom; a failed payment halfway through usually means starting the payment step again, not losing the application.
Save the transaction ID the moment the payment confirms. A screenshot of the confirmation screen is enough. If anything about the application is questioned later, that ID is your proof.
Paying with Rocket, Upay or Sonali Seba
The portal also accepts Rocket (Dutch-Bangla Bank), Upay and Sonali Seba. The flow is the same shape: choose the method, follow its confirmation steps, and keep the transaction reference. Sonali Seba suits students whose families bank with Sonali Bank; Rocket and Upay work like the other mobile wallets. Whichever you choose, the fee is identical — Tk 150 per paper. No method is faster at the board's end; the board processes the application, not the payment brand.
Payment succeeded, portal not updated — what now?
This happens under load, especially in the first and last days of the window (1 to 7 November 2026). Handle it in this order:
Wait, then log back in. Give it a few minutes, return to rescrutiny.eduboardresults.gov.bd, enter your details again and check the state of your application. Most "stuck" payments have quietly landed by then.
Do not pay twice. A second payment for the same papers does not speed anything up, and paid fees cannot be cancelled or refunded — that rule has no exceptions, even for genuine mistakes.
Check the transaction with your provider. Your bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Upay or Sonali Seba history shows whether the money actually left. If it did and the portal still shows nothing after a reasonable wait, contact the board with the transaction ID ready, and the provider's support line if the board asks for payment proof.
Remember the final Submit. Once the payment shows, you still have to finish the application itself — go back in and click Submit, as the homepage guide stresses. Money paid plus application unsubmitted equals nothing filed.
Before paying: the two-minute check
Because the fee is gone the moment it is paid, spend two minutes before confirming. Is every subject on the list one you actually want challenged? Two-paper subjects in pairs? Roll and registration numbers exactly as on the admit card? Mobile number the one you want the result SMS on? And is there anything on the list you added by accident — because the Delete option works only now, before money moves.
Once you are sure, pay, note the transaction ID, and submit. Then the only job left is waiting for the revised result — here is how and when it reaches you.
